Caring Crafters Make a Difference

Posted on March 6, 2015

On Wednesday, March 4th, Shelly Vergeer and Bettyjo Drent (of WECHC) loaded up their vehicle with boxes full of items that were lovingly made by the WECHC Caring Crafters Group.

This group meets every Monday afternoon from 1:30 – 3:30pm. It is an informal time for folks to get together to either work on personal projects or items for donations. You will see in the pictures, that many useful items were made and donated. Slippers, hats, scarfs, ponchos, bibs, afghans, lapagans, comfort dolls and jewelry were all part of the packages that we made up for three places that were on the receiving end. My Sister’s Place, Women’s Community House and Ronald McDonald House were all chosen this time.

Each place was extremely grateful to have been chosen. Some comments we received were…..”these are all beautiful and we know they will be used immediately,” “the women here will be able to give and receive this jewelry as birthday gifts, how thoughtful,” “please let your group know how much we appreciate this.” Bringing these comments and pictures back to the Caring Crafters Group was a treat, as they are now geared up to continue making more items.

They are thrilled to see their work of love being shared in the communities and invite all crafters who would like to learn a craft such as crocheting or knitting to join or if you have been crafting (crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking, etc) for years and would like to do your craft with some social time, please join us.
